Sturgis MC Ralley

Every year for the past decade I have been trying to get to Sturgis for the ralley and every year it seems we are just too busy to take the time away from the shop. But this year was different…since we had some new m/c products to release we figured this was the perfect place so we loaded up the RV and headed out to South Dakota. I was hoping for sunny skies and warm weather but for the most of the week it was raining off and on and when you add that to the “amazing” roads at the Buffalo Chip it was a mud pit no matter where you went so you can imagine how happy I was riding the custom.

Even when it wasn’t raining, the Buffalo Chip had a water truck pouring…not sprinkling… water throughout all of the dirt paths and since we were all the way in the back I thought next year I would buy a set of off road mudders to make it a little easier to get around. With all that aside there was plenty of “activities” to keep people busy even though we weren’t riding. It seemed as though every saloon was trying to out-do each other with a better venue. The Buffalo Chip won this hands down with Def Leppard, Poison, Toby Keith, Buck Cherry, Tesla, and more. There were quite a few more activities going on but we won’t speak of those here! lol

The weather did finally clear up by the weekend which made for some incredible rides throug Deadwood and Mount Rushmore. One of my favorite rides was though Custer State Park where the Park Ranger stopped traffic on this winding 2 lane road so the Bison could cross the road. I dont mean just one, there were dozens of all different sizes. It was truly amazing to see!

I had to get the Pro Street a bath since she was covered in mud so we stopped at the Easy Riders Saloon for a scrub 😉
