I live for the days when I can hit the back roads, there is nothing like beautiful scenery and twisties to make all your stress disappear!
Whether I am on the bike or behind the wheel of my 10sec GT500 DD (that’s daily driver for those who aren’t car nutz!) it’s calming for me to explore and take in all the beauty this world has to offer. The funny thing is when I used to hit the twisties on my 9sec GSXR1000 or my 820bhp Shelby GT500 and it was always about the speed ( just like this guy ) and my goal was to triple the speed limit (this is no admission to guilt of any kind to those of you who are members of law enforcement because lord knows I have more sense than to act like an irresponsible teenager with no regard to life… ), that is until I was in California for a few months and got it all out of my system….
One day I found myself parked on a pull off, stressed and just staring into a canyon on Mulholland Highway when I looked around at all the gorgeous scenery that I never saw driving like an idiot all those times. I have always liked being in the country, so to speak, and it finally hit me… I think I have just about used up my 9 lives a few times over with all of those close calls in life driving like an asshole… You always hear stories of those who have not been so lucky and the tragedy that follows. Sometimes in life you allow yourself to get so wrapped up in little things that you forget to look at the big picture! Sure, I enjoy going fast, who wouldn’t when all you do for a living is make vehicles go faster and look cooler? I have finally reached a point in my life where I have realized that it needs to be saved for the right place..the track. I am not a saint by any means, I am just saying I have finally grown up a bit to pay more attention to the scenery rather than the speedometer. Hopefully more people will do the same! 😉
