I met up with Ed in Columbus Ohio while on our way to Kentucky to tune vehicles. In Ed’s words….
“When I purchased my Shelby GT Mustang in 2007 I was satisified, but not thrilled, with its performance. Later I began to read about performance upgrades for the 4.6 three valve and possible horsepower gains. I guess I thought a Shelby should have a significant horsepower increase over a regular GT so I began looking for ways to increase performance. I researched a supercharger and soon realized that the cost was curently prohibitive for my budget. I read an article in Mustang Monthly about Ray McClelland and how he worked his magic with a few bolt on part upgrades and a new tune for the 4.6 so I called him. He was very helpful over the phone, as I was in Ohio and he was in California, and we discussed the parts and the tune, I was sold!. Soon all the parts arrived and I installed them and attempted to install the tune on the car. Well, there was some type of a glitch with my tuner so I called Ray for advice..
Turned out he was coming through Ohio in a few weeks so I met him and he personally tuned my car. I was impressed with his helpfulness and his desire to make sure the tune was done right. After the tune was installed we drove the car and he was not satisfied so he made some adjustments until it was “perfect”! He insisted I drive the car to make sure I was satisfied and boy was I !! The acceleration of the car is fantastic! It feels like a totally different car! Now it actually performs like a Shelby should. I feel I now almost have the performance of a supercharger at the fraction of the cost and less stress on the engine. I was so very impressed with Ray, his knowledge, professionalism, and helpfulness! I would recommend him to anyone looking for a serious performance tuner! Thank You Ray! Ed Goodwin”
