I have attended dozens of cruises through scenic Southern California since I have moved here and with a nudge from friends to put on one of my own, I decided a run through the twisties on the famous Mulholland Hwy was going to be my first. I wanted to keep it kind of small since parking on the weekend at our destinations was going to be a huge hassle. My goal was around 20-25 cars. Turns out that we had 39 cars and they traveled from as far as Laguna Beach to hit the curves of Mulholland. Our meeting point was Island Restaurant in Simi Valley of the 118. This is where we met our friends from Laguna / Huntington Beach area. Leaving there the idea was to stay off of the highways as much as possible so we took Westlake Blvd/23 to Mulholland. If you have never been on Mulholland you have no idea what you are missing….that is if you like taking corners similar to those of a race track! Our lunch destination was the World Famous Neptunes Net (known by me since the first Fast & Furious movie). We were lucky enough to be able to park all together along PCH in Malibu with a great view of the ocean. After lunch we headed over to Decker Rd for some more fun on the twisties. Decker eventually merged with the second part of Mulholland Hwy we weren’t on yet passing the famous Rock Store and heading to Sagebrush Cantina for drinks and live music. A good time was had by all!
Thanks Jason from 281 Motorsports for the pics!
I will be adding more pics soon!
